|Group Title:||Garden Group|
|Group Description:||We maintain the garden at the Quoile Countryside Centre. The centre supplies tools, use of the garden shed, greenhouse and if Rory (the warden) is about – tea, coffee and biscuits.
We all enjoy the work and the chat, but most of all the tea. It is a very friendly group, made up of people with varying skills and knowledge. The response we have had from people visiting the garden has been lovely.
Come and give it a try, fresh air, exercise: who needs the gym? This is much more fun. Everything is there, although some people bring their own gloves. Come as often as you want – difficult to make every week.
We don’t use any power tools, just need to watch out if using secateurs.
We have visited Magheratimpany garden and hope to arrange more visits in the future.

Last year we visited Castleward and learnt a lot about their plans for the sunken garden, well worth a visit.
During the summer we had a couple of Wednesday afternoons off. the first visit was to a garden outside Portaferry beautiful garden and the best scone ever!
The second was in Hillsborough, a garden which had featured on TV, very interesting both as a garden and history of the house. This time scones and tray bakes.

Our group before tea
The highs and lows of the gardening year, Jan hard at work, Jack holding up the hoe and the real high, a well deserved cup of tea.
